Does one of the Land Girls sleep with a German soldier?

Is it just my imagination, or is it implied that the Land Girl (played by Thora Hird) has sex with the disguised German soldier? She's serving dessert to him, and then the scene ends very abruptly after she pats the seat next to her on the sofa. Remember, this movie was made around the same time as Double Indemnity, where sex was implied by having a man and woman embrace in one scene, and in the next, he's smoking a cigarette and she's reapplying her lipstick!

A 1942 equivalent of getting an "adults only" rating ploy. It also adds to the theory that anybody can be fooled. "He's great in bed so how can he be a bad guy?" How often do we read that in the newspaper after a tragedy?

She says 'Come and sit down and make yourself comfy.' And puts down an ashtray on the seat. Was that for the post-coital cigarette?

Next scene, she's on the old stair-lift whispering Follow me big boy.

Hitler could have conquered England if he had sent enough troops over on the Q.T.
They would have swept der Englisher Frauleinen off their feet in no time.

Police uniforms are sexier. LOL

Sell crazy someplace else, we're all stocked up here.

I didn't get that impression, and I doubt that was what the director was trying to suggest. Probably more along the line that ladies need to use good judgment with strangers during wartime, and not just rely on romantic impressions.

Young British men, most of whom were in uniform at that point, got a similar message in training films about "foreign women." Including prostitutes, of course.
