Pretty good restoration on Film 4 - great to see such wonderful British character actors when they were young - Thora Hird - Patricia Hayes - Harry Fowler.

I'd forgotten how gory it was - but hugely enjoyable I'm just glad the home guard from Dad's army didn't meet the same fate as the Home guard here

I'm sat watching it now. A repeat that I never get bored of. A fantastic film. As you say the film4 HD is fantastic. Looks new not its 74 years of age. Brilliant from start to finish. Long may they keep showing it as I will watch it everytime.
