Outfit changing?! ***SPOILERS***

I don't know if anyone has yet noticed (and perhaps it is not of a great importance, I just thought it a bit odd) but when Kate "jumps forward" to her past, her dress changes. There is black lace (or something) being added on the cleavage and I don't seem to remember this big ribbon-like thing at the back being there before. When Leopold lands into the future however, nothing seems to respectively change on his clothes....

As I said, not too important, but got me wondering about its possible meaning in the film.

haha i thought no one else noticed this too, yeah when Kate goes back her gown magically changes to fit the style of the day but when Leopold goes to the future his outfit is still from the past...I do think it was cool to see the change though, even if it is a bit odd only her clothes changed

I don't think they changed. I even watched it through this time with the fact in mind. They looked the same to me.

Yes, it changes. They added black trim to the neckline and a train of ruffles to the modern day dress. I guess it's just a pretty subtle artistic choice, but I don't think it was necessary, just sort of creates another plot hole in this fluffy movie.

Yep, the outfit changed. Watch the scene when Stuart and Charlie hand Kate the photos taken in 1876 (this is upstairs at the party where she is announced as the new VP). As she runs away from them, you can clearly see the back of her dress, which is straight, has no bustle, and no train. Yet miraculously, it has all of these, plus the black fringe.

Oddly, in the "Goofs" section, this is stated as incorrectly regarded as a goof.
