Her hair

I know it's trivial, but Meg/Kate's haircut in this movie is so distracting. I know we were just coming out of the 90s and choppy, stringy hair was still 'in' but gah it's awful and takes me right out of the movie!

I've never fooled anyone. I've let people fool themselves.

Oh, my God, thank you. I like the movie but Kate's hair -- when Meg Ryan has wonderful beautiful hair normally -- was so distracting. This is seriously the ugliest haircut I have ever seen on any female character in film.

It would be one thing if the movie acted like it was just Kate's hair unstyled. Instead, you can see the choppy stiff hairsprayed sticks of straight hair for miles -- so it's very obvious that unfortunately for whatever reason, poor Kate's hair is indeed actually... intentional.

Seriously. Worst hair ever. Ugh.

I am watching for the first time just now and agree 100% about her messy hair.

Terrible and distracting, I agree.

I like Meg enough to not really care about her hairstyles. I'm sure it wasn't her choice. I have the dvd and go back and watch this along with other of hers all the time.Movies now days makes me glad I have past dvds to watch instead of going to movies now.

Her big clunky shoes too.

It unfortunately was a popular hairstyle at the time, despite how messy it looked. I was okay with it because I'd unfortunately had to live through Meg's "short-spiky-I'm-too-good-to-do-my-hair-in-the-morning" phase, so this was a nicer hairstyle to see her in...to a degree. Her character is barely tolerable before Leopold's influence softens her.

I will admit that this hairstyle is not easy to put in other styles, considering how short it is. She could barely tie it back for working out, and when it was pinned up, they had to use a lot of pins to barely keep it out of her face.

I watched it again and agree with others it was a terrible hairstyle, so choppy and so distracting from any beauty Meg might have been retaining. It kept falling into her eyes and just made me want to brush the hair away from her face. Ridiculous, I don't know who came up with that one but I don't recall those haircuts being that popular.

I dare say a better hairstyle would have even made an improvement on the movie itself as I think it was so bad it took away some of the enjoyment.

It also made her face and head look droopy.
