Funny enough Miss Shelley (Jean Arthur) was 41. She should have asked him if she looked 40.

Yeah, I thought "40" was pushing it. Perhaps His Honor Lightcap was fudging on his age? Because I can't see even the original theater audiences accepting a 51-year-old Ronald Colman as being over a decade younger.
