How does the coat get back in the shop?

WHen W.C Fields buys the coat he wears it to the temperance lecture. However, in the next sequence it is back in the store, to be stolen by the robbers.

If the Fields scence were missing, the coat would have been sold to the store, the next scence would have been the store being robbed. The coat being in the store would make sense then. Either there is a missing bit in the restored scene in which the store gets the coat back from fields, or the writers left a hole in the plot.
