The musical score was beautiful

Does anyone know the name(s) of some of the songs. I think one of them might be "Beyond the Reef". I thought the music was beautiful.

Thanks

Guess it was just the island scenes with the beautiful Gene Tierney that I remember. Can't say that I recall any other music. Must have been mezmerized by her beauty and the island music in the background. Yeah, could have used a lot more or her that's for sure.

OP, the composer, Alfred Newman, also composed the score for John Ford's film "The Hurricane" and it is somewhat similar and very beautiful as well. There are still many Newmans, all relatives of this one and composers of film music still in the business. Including the current film composer Randy Newman.

Thanks Flutchman. The music seemed to complement Son of Fury in a way that made the tropical setting really come alive. Interesting that Randy Newman is part of the Newman family. I think that movie scores from the "Golden Age of Hollywood" were very important to their success. I'm always amazed by the sheer volume of movies scored by Max Steiner.
