Chock-full of great character comediens
One doesn't usually expect much from a black and white B musical, but this one has a lot to offer.
The songs are pretty good and I loved the big band sound and the King Sisters.
Margaret Dumont is always a delight, no matter how small a part she has.
Buddy Ebsen's eccentric dancing (totally out of style these days) was very interesting. Ebsen has a very likeable screen presence.
Patsy Kelly is one of the screen's funniest women.
Bert Lahr was a bit more subdued than I've seen him in other movies. I liked his comedic performance here.
Sam Levene played his usual gruff self.
And best of all, June Havoc as a ditsy night club performer who is an expert pick pocket. She was very funny and looked terrific (pre-nose job), although a little skinny.
