I liked it....

I know that the other poster on this board called it silly..and it is...but its enjoyable and has a few great musical/dance numbers...

Its also nice to see Lucille ball in a sexy role not a mad cap comedy one.

There are even some good lines.

Sure its thin because its from 1942....but so was almost everything from that era...and many of them are still enjoyable.

It got a rating of 6 on imdb...and that's probably right...but its still fun and you cant look away.

I'm watching it now, and it's a trifle. But it's pleasant and well done for what it is. If it keeps up at this rate, I'll probably give it a 6. It's haphazard, but you're right, it keeps your attention.

And it IS nice to see Lucy in a sexy role, but also a cute one. She did a lot of madcap comedy AND melodrama at this time, and a lot of it was shrill. She generally played smug, spoiled brats who just weren't as endearing, or as funny, as Lucy Ricardo. Granted, she wasn't being given the Carole Lombard, Jean Harlow, or Claudette Colbert scripts, and by the 1940s the screwball comedies were nearing their end anyway. So it's refreshing to see her in something this light, not faced with a tough acting challenge, or with the opportunity to overact.

I completely agree. This film IS silly, but very fun, too! I honestly wasn't expecting to enjoy it as much as I did. It's a very light-hearted film. The other user shouldn't have taken it so seriously!
