It has been a while since I have seen this movie but did Tobin get away? I know he was planning to leave the country the next day (before the ending) but I thought that since Cummings sent the note through the window that it was mentioned that he and his conspirators were arrested and then they went after Fry. Can anyone help?
shareI think it's left unclear. Tobin was not among the men caught in the Newspaper building, and it was never (that I remember) revealed whether the police picked him up after their discussion with Pat or if he had already left the country. I think we can assume that Mrs. Sutton and others were convicted, though, as they had no prior plans to flee.
shareGood point daisy! Also Tobin seemed at one point to be unconcerned abut who won the war but I think he would still be a wanted criminal for being behind the saboteur's work and men killed.
