I got the feeling that the pregnancy was a strategy manufactured by the defence council to garner sympathy with the jury (and public).
If she were really pregnant, she wouldn't have needed to (quite obviously) do the math in her head when a reporter asked her when the baby was due. The due date would have been a major topic of conversation already, with the doctor and in private.
shareBottom line; she never had a baby any time during the time period near where she would have delivered one.
So even on the off chance that she might have been pregnant, she lost the child to a miscarriage or some other medical issue without bringing it to term. There's also no pictures of that time period showing her with any notable growth that would imply she was pregnant.
But chances are it was all a lie to gain sympathy, much like most of her sensational claims. Her story changed a bit almost every time she retold it when questioned.
