A real classic

I first saw this movie in a history of film class in high school. For the most part, the students in the class fell asleep during the movies we watched. As for this movie...I didn't notice one person who wasn't awake. For the class I was in, that shows really what a good movie it was. 1942 was a great year for the movies. Gary Cooper and James Cagney (Yankee Doodle Dandy) made equally great performances that year. If I were to decide who was the best actor of the year, that would be extremely tough. What's really amazing about this movie is that it's a true story, and it's something people can relate to.

This is a great source for all people, for the fact that it teaches you to always do your best, not to quit, and to appreciate the people that appreciate you. This movie is definately in my top 10 favorite movies category of all time. I recommend this movie to anyone of any age. You really won't be disappointed.

It's a great movie and it tells the story of a real hero. A must see for any baseball fan as well.
