It was funny when the police pulled Lou Gehrig's dad over
and the police all join in the calvacade to escort him to Yankee Stadium!
Happy Valentine's Day!

That wasn't Gehrig's dad. It was "Sam Blake," the movie's version of long-time sportswriter-slash-PR flack Fred Lieb.

Sorry. I was drinking wine and I didn't make it very clear.
That wasn't Gehrig's dad, it was Sam Blake, a fictional character who was a sportswriter and a friend of Gehrig. The character was based on a real-life sportswriter named Fred Lieb, who'd gone into public relations and promotions by the time he and Gehrig became friends

Old baseball biopics? I'd suggest "The Babe Ruth Story" with William Bendix in the title role. It's even hokier and more fictional than "Pride of the Yankees." Also, "The Stratton Story," with Jimmy Stewart as White Sox pitcher Monty Stratton, who came back to pitch in the minor leagues 10 years after losing a leg in a hunting accident.
One that's more raw is "Fear Strikes Out," with Anthony Perkins as Jimmy Piersall, the Red Sox outfielder who recovered from an emotional collapse. It isn't as fictionalized as the others. Perkins was a complete mis-cast as a ballplayer, but perfectly cast as someone with emotional problems. Karl Malden plays Piersall's overbearing father, who drove him to his breakdown.
There's also one with Ronald Reagan as Grover Cleveland Alexander, but I've never seen it because I can't stand Reagan.
Oediface,
No, NOT baseball movies. I HATE bb movies.
I meant horror, comedy, romance, bios, etc.
