Pittsburgh (1942) - Theme Music.

Running through the movie is a background theme music which I assume is a song. I would be grateful of any help in finding the name of the tune.

The beautiful background music that runs through the movie Pittsburgh is A GARDEN IN THE RAIN, which was written in 1928 by Carroll Gibbons and James Dyrenforth. It became a hit for Gene Austin (not Gene Autry) in 1929. The song was already an old standard by 1942 when the film Pittsburgh was made. The song became a hit again for The Four Aces in 1952 and it remained on the Billboard Chart for seven weeks. Here is a link to the original 1929 version www.youtube.com/watch?v=XiMP2stb0B8 and here is a link to the 1952 version www.youtube.com/watch?v=dRXrnAJsH8Y. The Four Aces version is the one I grew up with, but today I prefer the sweetness of the original Gene Austin version. I'm sorry it took five years to answer your question.
