A bumpy and odd Movie

Once Upon a Honeymoon (1942) is a VERY odd movie.

It tries to be a Comedy, Drama and Romance film -- in different parts.

It meanders from one genre to the other - in and out, back and forth.

Cary and Ginger try their hardest, but even they seem lost by the unusual Script.

It tosses in a typical WW II propaganda element to top it off.

Worth watching - but ODD.

I just saw this movie today, and I thought it was probably the oddest movie I've ever seen. The light-hearted, comedic music in the background of a story involving Hitler's destruction of Europe was extremely disjointed. The movie should have stayed within the drama/romance genre and not tried to mix slap-stick comedy in with it.

I agree. The inconsistent tone of the film bothered me alot. However considering this was 1942 they didnt know the extent of the Nazis treatment of the Jews so it should be forgiven. Still with 70 years of hindsight it was awkward.

In that era many films were inserting war propaganda elements. Still the element of comedy, drama and war propaganda makes this an unusual film.

It's that man again!!
