Doubtful though Jules Dassin's films are all underrated gems.

It will be shown on Turner Classic Movies on November 12th if the schedule goes as planned. I'm crossing my fingers on this one.

Well you've had 6 years now and it was on TCM last night, so I hope you didn't blow your chance.

It airs on TCM quite a bit. In fact, it's airing right now and I'm recording it. The movie is part of its salute to Conrad Veidt, and has many of his best and/or most notable movies. An interesting omission is Different from the Others (1919), which is historically significant for two reason. First, it's the first mainstream movie about homosexuality and second, Veidt starred in it (as a gay man) despite the very controversial subject. However, TCM will air his other famous silent, The Cabinet of Dr Caligari, at 3:15am.

A good strategy to find your favorite old movies is to look up the stars' birthdate. If any of the stars was prolific, TCM may air a day long marathon of his/her most notable movies on that date.

If you still haven't seen it after 7 years, and can't find it elsewhere, email me and I can upload it to you. Programmatic TCM airings are always a treat because they include commentary by Robert Osborne or Ben Mankiewicz.

Just keep an eye out for it on TCM. It just aired again recently.

But it might be tricky if you don't have a programmable DVR like TiVo or don't check TCM's monthly listings (for free online). On my TiVo I just set a wishlist for anything with Conrad Veidt, and it gets recorded automatically.
