Nutsy and his drinks

This excellent film noir has it all: cast, cinematography to die for, a seamless change of director midfilming, a plot one can't fully understand but still draws the viewer in.

The Fox Film Noir 2008 DVD includes valuable commentary by noir author, Foster Hirsch.

Claude Rains plays advisor, confidante, and who knows what to our hero and heroine. All other characters drink themselves silly with alcohol. But, Nutsy at the Red Dot bar drinks what appears to be Coca Cola from its famous bottle. On the Live Bait barge, he spoons coffee/tea. His drinking habits are totally out of whack with the rest of the cast.

Definitely 9/10. DFZ did it again.
