I wonder how many

of the Marines filmed in this short were still alive at the end of WWII?

From the date of your post I'm guessing you also saw this short after watching Tell It to the Marines on TCM. I've had it saved on my DVR and just now got around to watching it. But back to the topic, I found myself wondering the exact same thing. It's just tragic thinking about all of the young men in this short film who met such an unfortunate end during the prime of their lives. Throughout the entire film, but especially when it shows the Marines in the huge triangular formation, I was just picturing in my head someone going through and putting an "X" over all the soldiers who didn't make it. I know that sounds morbid but it really makes you think.

Off-topic but does anyone know where this was filmed. . . particularly the shots with the tall buildings in the background? Any help will be greatly appreciated.
