Vanzetti's Letter

Just in case any of the viewers of this film happen to be scholars of American history, legal history, English literature, or other disciplines that might lead them to be interested, I will point out here that "Vanzetti's letter" quoted by Tommy in this film is fictional and exists only in this movie.

Bartolomeo Vanzetti did write several letters to various groups and individuals while awaiting execution. Those that were archived for posterity and that I have found record of bear no resemblance to the quote in the movie.

In case you are interested in the Sacco and Vanzetti case, there are two salient facts I have been able to cull out of all the hue and cry over them, positive and negative. When arrested for the Braintree robbery and murder Sacco was found in possession of the pistol that almost certainly killed one of the guards and Vanzetti was found in possession of a pistol that probably belonged to the murdered guard.
