Many Actors in this film nominated for Oscar

When viewing this film, I could not help but think how many actors in it were nominated for an Academy Award, many of them winning. Even E.G. got an honorary one! Wyman, Quinn, Gleason, Crawford all nominated. And William Hopper was nominated for an Emmy. Anybody else notice this?
