Dayum Good Movie

Where has this all-time great Bette Davis movie been hiding. It has such a stellar cast and great plot but not very many votes. This is one of Bette's best -itch movies. Just great. Charles Coburn deserved an Oscar....such a great performance.

I saw it for the first time on TCM tonight. Talk about the "late, late
show." Delicious fun. And how great to hear Billie Burke speak
contralto!!!

What impressed me most here was John Huston's directing. When you see his name as director, you know the movie will move along at a good clip. Not only does every scene in ITOL advance the plot, but every part of a scene is there for a purpose. Well done, Mr. Huston!

"In This Our Life" is a true treasure! What's not to love of Bette at her bitchiest??? She was terrific and so alive in this, and definitely "larger than life". The rest of the cast was great, as well.

seeing olivia de hayvilland in movies just a few years prior to "key largo" she looks and even sounds different than from that role i know her best from, that makes one look at that performance as great now, maybe she was made up to look a bit rugged in key largo. two sisters named roy and stanley was funny throughout.

Olivia DeHaviland wasn't in Key Largo. That was Lauren Bacall and Claire Trevor.

Unbelievable! I know I hadn't seen every film but I thought I had seen every 'important' film. I see this on TCM On Demand and didn't even realize I hadn't seen it until I saw Olivia's name in the credits. I thought it was gonna be one of her Miriam Hopkins movies. This was a revelation to see Olivia and Bette in a movie I hadn't seen. And Hattie McDaniel! And the race subplot! Really excellent film. In fact, I'm watching it again.
