Girls, who would you have chosen? (SPOILERS)

Hi all,

In this movie, Ted steals Lila from Jim and then later on he steals Linda from Jim as well, but eventually Jim gets her back. So my question is who would you choose? Jim or Ted? I'm not even sure who I would've picked! Jim has a good heart, but Ted is much more attractive, in my opinion. I think a combination of the two would've been the ultimate!

Mmm, yes. Good thing Fred Astaire tended to play a sweeter guy in most of his other movies. In a couple of others he's devious at first, but love turns him into a good guy.

I do find Bing very attractive in this movie, too, though.

Ted would be my guy. I love to dance, and dancing with Fred Astaire would be the ultimate high. So, Ted/Fred it is.

Although lazy Jim/Bing is right up my alley. Working only 15 days a year? I could go for that. But I still choose Ted/Fred. And if he brings firecrackers, it would be the 4th of July every day, so that beats being lazy 350 days a year.

reply

Ted (fred's character) every single time, but then again i love fred astaire anyway and while bing is growing on me i don't find him attractive

If you get a chance to see "Blue Skies" do so. Another Bing/Fred picture that isn't much of a plot, but they are good.

reply

i didn't like blue skies as much, i always thought that as fred had announced it was to be his last film (thankgod it wasn't) he could of at least got the girl, i know bing was on his home lot but he wasnt retiring! putting on the ritz is also one of my fave astaire solo numbers

Uhmmm....it's so difficult to decide on just one!I should say I pick Jim...I fall for crooners and being so sweet I would be lost. Probably my story would be the same as Linda's.

reply

Jim! Can't believe some people would choose Ted! Fred's character sweet at all in this film, he was very centered on the dance partner, that's all. When he said he loved Linda the first time he saw her, i was like "oh no you didn't!!!"

reply

No contest--Ted in a heartbeat! Jim is the quintessential Nice Guy, that guy who refuses to come right out and say I'm crazy about you, he just pulls a lot of tricky crap behind your back. Even when Linda (rightfully) called him on his crap, he whined about it.

Ted! I love his snarky, unafraid self.
