Wow, poor Dwight Frye!

Major roles in the '30s (Dracula, 1st Frankenstein, and Bride) and in this? An unbilled bit as an angry villager, shouting a line about burning down the castle. And that's it! Looks like they just tossed him a bit part for old time's sake . . .

He has another small part as a villager in the next film, FRANKENSTEIN MEETS THE WOLF MAN.

I had to back the film up to see if that was him. And sure enough, once I checked the credits, it was. I think he was excellent in the first two films, and especially in Dracula. Too bad he didn't really garner any star power beyond those films, and he died just one year after this film was released. I wonder if he felt slighted by them giving what was essentially his role to Bela Lugosi, probably just because he was a big name.
