The Scene after the big fight w/ Corbett and John L.

It is a scene that breaks my heart every time I watch it. These 2 actors were so great in their roles and this scene cemented their greatness together. There is a man at the end of his career and one with an ego to match his greatness. Flynn and Bond...if they don't make you shed a tear or ten....well I don't know what will...Sit back and enjoy a great movie with an outstanding cast..The truth be damned here...a great film indeed...

You're right and believe me,you are not the only grown man who tears up at this scene-EVERY TIME I WATCH IT. "It's hard to be a good loser, but harder to be a good winner" (Ward Bond as John L)

Didn't happen in real life - they didn't like each other to put it mildly!
Ironically- Sullivan got up after his defeat and spoke to the audience- "If I had to get licked I'm glad it was by an American. I remain, yours truly, John L Sullivan"
