American Volunteer Group panned it

It called this movie "unbelievably bad" because of its factual errors. Even worse it was pure propaganda for Jiang Kaishek, who was shown as a gung ho anti-Japanese fighter when in fact he let other forces do his fighting for him.

Dont watch it then!

My advice exactly!

I dont give a *beep* about accuracy, it's a good John Wayne flick.

It is sad when people make statements like "I don't give a *beep* about accuracy." That is exactly the response that the propagandist are hoping for. A statement like this means shows that viewers can be easily manipulated ... just appeal to their emotions. Hate to say it but that is how Hitler rose to prominence.

Accuracy and truth in film is very important IMHO. Especially when you consider in an audio visual society film becomes the teller of history.

How did you feel about Oliver Stone's JFK ri4534?

reply

The Red Chinese have tried to rewrite history and claim that they did all the fighting against the Japanese. Stop spreading their lies about Jiang Kaishek.

reply

If the AVG panned this film that is very telling and important.
