Brothers Working Together...

I notice that there aren't any discussions concerning the Falcon films. Well, this is a good one to start with, mainly because both real life brothers are in this together. [I believe it is the first of only a couple]. George Sanders was moving up in Hollywood and wanted out of the series, so he either uses his influence, or RKO just decided to get him..., anyway, they get Tom Conway (George Sanders' older brother) to come in as Tom Lawrence, Gay Lawrence's brother; I don't think they say if his character is the older or not. Well, the rest is Classic Detective history. I like this film because of their pairing; but I think my favorite storyline is probably "The Falcon And The Co-eds", but this is a pretty good tale as well. So, what Falcon film, or filmS do you enjoy?

Just as you, my favorite of the whole series was 'The Falcon And The Co-eds'.

I have all 16 of the Falcon movies (including the three Calvert ones from 48-49), which I bought from a seller in the UK (an amatuerish, poor quality transfer to DVD, with lots of macroblocking). The three Calvert ones (to put it diplomatically) are 'interesting' but have virtually nothing in common with the Sanders/Conway pictures except for the Falcon name! The Conway/Sanders ones are much more enjoyable.

I wish the whole series would be officially released on DVD.

I think it is just a matter of time for a Box Set of the Falcon films to come out. Also the Saint films, as well. What, with the popularity of the Thin Man, Sherlock Holmes and Charlie Chan box sets. I've never seen the Calvert, Falcon films. I do have some of the Charles McGraw, as the Falcon and in this case- aka; Mike Waring, television programs, from the 1950's.

I'm watching this one now and like it very much.
If they are doing a transition it's a great one. Both Falcon brothers are terrific -- and this is a really great movie.
Like others, I'd love to have all the movies on DVD.

JeanBard99: Hope you are aware by now that all 13 Falcon pictures are available from Turner Classic Movies/ Warner Archive in two volumes.

I've always thought that Tom Conway had an almost identical voice to George Sanders. In this movie Tom Conway gets a chance to impersonate his brother's voice to a police officer.
