Bilge Pumps Work Better

Yes, I know many like this, but...I didn't hate it as it's sort of fun, but why did RKO have to butcher "Murder My Sweet" to make this vastly inferior version And then decided to remake it only 2 years later? Makes no sense. Yes, I enjoy James Gleason and Allen Jenkins, but their comedy bits are too intrusive as well as corny. And Ward Bond, a fine player, is padded up ridiculously to fit the character's build. I'm glad George Sanders bailed on the Falcon after only 3 flix; he was needed elsewhere and his suavity was indistinguished here from his finer Saint pics. All and all, a cheapjack affair.

The sense itself was I.

I'm just now watching this movie which is showing on TCM, and I thought the same about the laughable padding up of Ward Bond. He looks like he's swelled up from bee stings. What the heck were they thinking?

And just think he's supposed to be 6'5" and when he stands next to "Goldy" he isn't much taller than him??
