Nice war time good vs evil movie. Was on TMC late/early on morning, I had to finish it to the end. The blind detective was a treat to watch, and the dog.
shareYes, this is a good movie. Anything with Edward Arnold in it is bound to be. It wasn't clear to almost the end that we were dealing with Nazis. It was a supposition on my part earlier. The dog was fantastic.
shareGotta love Mr. Moreland. Would love to have seen more scenes with him and the dog. They could have defeated the Nazis by themselves!
shareThere seems to be a supposition in the plot summary that they were Nazis that were involved. It makes sense so I just went along with it given the time that the film was made.
shareI thought it was a very good movie but my dvr did not record the ending. Great training of the dog.
shareAt 80 minutes, it's very tight. I think it could have been opened up a little to full "A" feature length and it wouldn't have suffered at all. The quality is certainly there.
shareArnold didn't perform as much detective work in solving a crime as he did the first time he played this character. A very routine Nazi spy ring plot in which Arnold's dog had as much to do with its apprehension than Arnold, himself.
shareI treated it as a B-mystery. Even though an 80 minute running time can qualify a film as a main feature strictly speaking I believe.
