Ronnie Reagan

was the father of Ron Reagan and a finer human being could not be found on earth or in heaven.

He may have been a "B list" president but not being a U.S. citizen i`m prob not the best person to carry on your argument. What I will say is that from a "B list" actor comes a very entertaining performance alongside the ever-reliable Flynn.

Why hasn`t this been released on DVD in the states yet-can`t believe such an entertaining flag-waver is still languishing on video-not as good as Objective Burma but worth a release.

Ah, what repartee....

Reagan was a B movie actor, pure and simple. A few entertaining films, but little of substance. He was no Jimmy Stewart or Henry Fonda.

Reagan as president was hardly the greatest of our lifetime, certainly not ever. There is a certain man named Lincoln who trumps him in all categories. He's no Jefferson, no Washington. I'll take FDR or Truman any day, even Ike before Reagan. They at least stood for something other than being a mouthpiece for Corporate America (especially the defense industry). The Reagan legacy was an increased tax burden on the middle class, the lowering of real wages, migration of manufacturing overseas, supporting death squads in Central America, selling arms to dangerous nations, and the supply side economics con job.

A barely literate member of the Hollywood Coastguard. Such a war hero and political genius must be bowed down to in perpetuity. Glad you love him so. I know he'll caress you in heaven.

Life's like that, isn't it? Undercooked then over-baked and finally insipient.

Keep talkin' bs... I was in the work force during his terms and my wages increased, not decreased, by 34% over 3 years. For the average Joe accustomed to somewhere between 3 - 5% annual raises, that wasn't bad at all . And it wasn't just me or the type of job i held that saw these relatively large increases. My father was able to retire finally and I'll never forget him telling me that he had so much money he didn't know what to do with it. Now, he was by no means wealthy but he was not accustomed to having money left over each month after the bills had been paid.
Did you have a job back then or are you one of these lefties who believe everything they read on left wing web sites and help keep the BS alive ?
To be fair, yes, I'm talking about Reagans 2nd term here, the first wasn't as rosey. My base salary, now increased by 34%, allowed me to get greater raises over the years as future raises were a percentage of my new base. To this day workers are benefiting from those 3 years - never a back slide and those in this job finally made enough to be able to afford a decent life style.
And what Reagan did for the moral of this country, after the Nixon debacle, the Nam war, Jimmy Carter etc., you can't put a price on. He restored faith in this country. The Dems tried to hang him for wanting to battle Communism on the American continent (go figure) so don't be talkin' BS about wages/taxes.
If the Dems had had their way, you're pay would have matched the average Muscovites.
Ronald Reagan was exactly what this country needed at the exact point it time. Thank you for being you Mr. Reagan, RIP.

I enjoyed him in this movie, King's Row, and all the other ones I've seen him in. I think it's amusing that some people equate talent with the popularity of the movie. There are plenty of actors I think are awful, like June Allyson, who appeared in A movies that were big hits and who became quite popular.

There are also plenty of fine actors who, for whatever reason, were/are never able to make a living at their craft. Reagan supported himself and his family as an actor. He made some good movies and some that weren't as good; that's true of all actors.

Beyond acting, Reagan contributed to the industry in other ways. He was elected president of SAG and served during eventful years. He served his country in the military during the war; he served his state as Governor of California; and he again served his country as President.

He may not have been top of the box office like Clark Gable but everyone can't be in that position. What's important is that we each do our part and keep going at whatever level we are. It's easy to criticize but harder to do.

I suspect the people who dislike Reagan probably have good things to say about our current president, Obama. Well, besides going to school, Obama hadn't done much in his life. He was in the Senate but spent much of that time being absent even before he was out campaigning for his next job.

Some people value Presidents like Reagan who create opportunities so we can each choose and work towards our own destinies. Other people prefer Presidents who think we're so stupid they have to spoon-feed, or rather force-feed, us the life they think we should have. They want everyone to have the same things regardless of the level and amount of effort they're willing to put in. That sounds an awful lot like Communism to me. Everyone gets the same mediocre crap except, of course, the elite who feel they deserve much more because they're deciding what to dole out to the masses after collecting in high taxes all our money.
