They didn't begin operations until after Pearl Harbor 12/22 or thereabouts so this is another movie that sort of fudges that bit of history - he first being the movie Flying Tigers. A little bit of decent archive footage of some of their P40B aircraft anyway.

The Flying Tigers had their first *combat* in late December, '41. But reconnaissance operations along the Burma Road were in action in November, 1941, exactly as depicted in this movie. The movie doesn't show Flying Tiger combat, just reconnaissance, and thus is pretty accurate on that score.
