The Big Street - Wonderful singer,-dubber, Martha Mears

I just loved The Big Street. Though the stars, Henry Fonda, Lucille Ball and others were great, I was very touched by a lovely song in the background, called Who Knows?. It ran often in the background, a very poignant tune. I just learned on IMDB that the song was dubbed by Martha Mears. I have My Favorite Spy in which she dubs Hedy Lamar in a song called "Not a Moment More". and "My Foolish Heart" in which she dubs a nightclub singer with the title song.

This lovely and talented lady should be acclaimed more than merely having her name in the credits. Ghost Singers like Ghost Writers are noteworthy too!

Good call on that...when I heard the singing voice dubbing Lucy I knew is heard that voice before, and where, so I checked, and was correct - Martha Mears also dubbed Rita Hayworth in Cover Girl!

Very distinctive voice!
