that had his own tap dance solo in it . Does anyone know who this excellent actor / performer was ? ( because he was just wonderful ! )
shareHis name is Ray McDonald. I just saw the 'Hoe Down' number on YouTube - amazing. I've seen 'Pass that Peace Pipe,' his number with the sensational Joan McCracken from Good News, several times - another show stopper. It's a mystery why MGM didn't promote McDonald to stardom.

I so agree Ray McDonald should have definitely been promoted to stardom and also Vera Ellen too ( she's my top favorite ) . Why these two incredibly talented actors were overlooked in Hollywood is beyond me . I will have to check out that " Pass the Peace Pipe " number on YouTube as well . I will also have to look for any future airings on this movie " Good News " on TCM soon . Thanks for the recommendations on that too .

I will definitely be keeping my eye out for this movie on TCM lol . What an excellent dance number this was ---- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kb2QtM_y3vo ---- and the " Good News " title song they sang in the other number was very impressive too . It's too bad TCM doesn't show any Vera Ellen movies as well or at least a bunch of them together as a tribute marathon ( to my knowledge so far anyway ? - he's hoping ) . She should be remembered .
