a very short movie

Movies were shorter back then. Plus you could just watch this and Frankenstein Meets the Wolf Man. Then it will feel like you just watched an entire modern movie.

A lot of B-movies of the era were right about that length due to the fact that they were meant to be shown with another, more substantial film as a double-feature.

All of the Charlie Chan movies, for instance, come in at about the same run time. The Val Lewton pictures, like Cat People and I Walked with a Zombie are also right around the same length. There were several others. It was a thing then.

You never see a film released theatrically now at 70 minutes.
