What a stylish movie!

I must have seen it before but I don't remember it but I am dazzles anew by MGM gloss. This movie is a high watermark of how classy MGM was. Every costume was a showpiece and lit and photographed to show it to it's best advantage. The sets and everything in them sparkled. Shiney surfaces had never been so smooth or reflective. The house built from a converted mill was terrific. Was there a story? I was on the phone when I tuned in and watched the first 20 minutes with the sound off. It was still very compelling.
