Did anyone catch..?

In the scene when John Payne goes up to Carmen Miranda's room to sign her up as her new manager, when Carmen aggressively grabs him to kiss him, you can clearly see her mouth half-parted and the tip of her tongue sticking out. I wonder if John Payne saw that one coming? The look of smirky satisfaction on Carmen's face after this kiss is priceless. Haha! Go, Carmen!

Well, it was John Payne...who could blame her? :)

reply

Indeed.

reply

I never noticed it until you mentioned it. Yep, she slips him some tongue and he didn't seem to mind. :)

Did anyone catch this one:

At about 1:18:24 during the "Nango" number, a lecherous old geezer tries to grab a dancer's breast and she moves his hand away.

...At about 1:18:24 in the "Nango" number...

And I thought I would be the only lecherous old geezer to notice that!

Thanks again, George, for appreciating my review of A Night To Remember (1942).

I don't know if I would have caught it on my own. It is mentioned in W. Franklyn Moshier's excellent "The Films of Alice Faye".

I got the time from the DVD.

I'm watching it now on Fox Movie Channel...and just caught that scene. What a naughty girl!

My Dad was in the Army Air Force with John Payne, and he said he was a jerk.

reply

You mean what a naughty guy.

Sorry to hear that about John Payne.

Hey Guys , they were in love, wile doing this movie , and Payne asked Carmen to marry him. The problem was that he was married and she didn't want to be the one to end his marriage. The affair longed for the time they did their few films together. Sadly, she also turned down , John Wayne, due to the same problem, and finaly, she got married to the worst low life scoundrel piece of s**t she could ever find, and ruined her life.
