I LOVE THIS MOVIE............

I first saw it on tv about 50 years ago when I was a kid. I always remembered it. When I saw it listed on TCM yesterday I made sure to catch it. A great movie, very heartwarming. When the end of the movie came, tears were running down my cheeks. Watch for it. It is not shown too often. Should not to be missed by ANY movie fan. Great acting by Phillip Dorn and Jeffrey Lynn.

I saw it recently for the first time and I loved it too.. I'm a huge fan of Philip Dorn and have been collecting as may of his films as I can locate. I'm glad I finally saw this film. Great story, good cast, and good direction. One that I will definately want to watch again.

Just saw this tonight and added it to my list of favorites. Very good film on this subject matter.

Just saw it for the first time, this afternoon. A whole lot more than I expected. I did not want it to end with the brother not knowing and I wasn't disappointed. The hidden speakers may have been a bit contrived but it was ok by me. I thought the sound of his voice was gonna be enough for a "happy" ending but the words of Henry VI really kicked open the flood gates. Didn't see that comin'. Great ending.

Was this a propaganda piece to sell war bonds, to justify the American effort, to let us know that this was so evil, even some Germans were on the right side? Maybe it was some kind of antiwar statement, who knows (Cue the debaters). It is what YOU think it is. Personally, I don't turn on the TV in a desperate search for edification, rather, I am looking for entertainment, and this one definately delivered the goods.
