Not a fan

Let me preface this by saying I am a big fan of Errol Flynn (except in this movie), as well as of movies depicting this period of American history. I know a lot of people like this movie but I just can't stand it.

It stretches the truth so unreasonably far that I simply can't suspend my disbelief enough to enjoy it at all.

They might as well have made a movie about General William Tecumseh Sherman running a brothel in Atlanta instead of embarking on his March to the Sea.

I can not disagree with you.

How do the angels get to sleep when the Devil leaves his porch light on?

Ha! That would have made one hell of a movie! Then Sherman would have came out the war a RICH man!

I agree with what you said about this movie.

The movie was entertaining but as far from historical as it can be. It was a movie filmed from a certain time and era, WW2 was hitting the world and the people liked to hero worship. Errol Flynn is interesting but Custer was an egomaniac and a fool and deserved his "reward".
