What is the song the navy sings at the new year?

From what I can make out of the lyrics, it's something like:

"...I left the lovely maiden
with rosy cheeks and eyes of ocean blue
and tho' my heart is sad and heavy (...) [not sure of this part]
to leave the lass I love so fond and true"

It's not "Heart of Oak".

I know the tune as "Danny Boy"

The tune is called Londonderry Air and is Irish. Many sets of lyrics have been written for this piece of music including "Danny Boy" and "My Gentle Harp"
