Joan Fontaine Too Beautiful

Joan Fontaine was really much too good-looking for her to be believable as Lina. Even though Lina is a highly intelligent woman, she is completely snookered and swept off her feet by a handsome fellow whom most people seem to recognize as a bounder and a cad. A woman as beautiful as Fontaine would be accustomed to being approached by attractive men and wouldn't be so susceptible to Johnnie's wiles. Someone like Bette Davis or Wendy Hiller would've been much more believable in the part IMO.
