I think that Sun Valley Serenade will be available soon in the United States because it will be on sale next month (May 10th, 2006) in France. Here is the web link : http://www.amazon.fr/exec/obidos/ASIN/B000EQHSUK/qid%3D1145264691/171-6509955-0317812

Yes, Fox has Sun Valley Serenade and Second Fiddle both in dvd production. I'm assuiming this is for an upcoming Sonja Henie set. She has a total of 10 films that she made for Fox and it would be perfect to have 5 titles in each set.

I am still trying to find out about SUN VALLEY SERENADE being on DVD. One of the important issues is the soundtrack in which the musical numbers were done in stereo originally. The tracks were reissued on a stereo Long Play album years ago and it would seem a real plus to have this on the official DVD restoration. The sound quality is terrific even on the VHS tape, but it's not in stereo. I hope they don't mess with it, compress it and try to make a phony 5-channel sound when they already have such a rich resource on the original stereo optical tracks. I hope Fox does this one right for a change.

I just bought Sun Valley Serenade on DVD at Woolworths in Australia for $8.97

I've been searching for Sonja Henie's movies in a few places online and am only finding them in strictly non-USA formats. Usually Region 2.

I got Sun Valley Serenade as part of a box set of 8 DVDs including Orchestra Wives, On the Avenue, The Dolly Sisters, Second Fiddle, The Gang's All Here, Pin Up Girl and Daddy Long Legs in 2007.

Fox is also releasing it as part of their centennial celebration this year:
