Suicide?

I don't remember a suicide in this movie. Yet "suicide" is one of the IMDB keywords here.

Can anyone help me out?

IMDb is rather infamous, IMO, for allowing anyone to enter material into their database. Unlike Wikipedia which has online editors, you have to report misclassifications and errors to the administrative staff.

Warning: They often don't do anything about it - or go the opposite direction and fault you rather than admit to a mistake.

Trust me - it's happened. Which is why I no longer post to IMDb's database since they will arbitrarily change, alter and twist your submission.

At about 55 min into the film Veronica and Joel are walking along the waterfront and walk past a guy hanging from a tree.

You can bet that was a Damn lynching not a suicide especially in the south.

According to "Goofs" those are a stagehand's legs! Not supposed to be showing. It looked to me like he had a bit of wood or a platform to stand on as well. Maybe a guy with reflector to get the lighting right, or a microphone?

Thank goodness I'd read that--it would have changed the entire movie for me if the main characters just walked under suicides or lynchings without a comment!

3:30 into the film Sullivan is arguing with two studio bosses about his next movie. One boss asks Sullivan "how about a nice musical?" Sullivan replies "how can you talk about musicals at a time like this with the world committing suicide, with corpses piling up in the street, with grim death gargling at you from every corner, with people slaughtered like sheep?".
