The parting scene

I love the parting scene in the apartment when Cagney goes off to jail. Fantastic acting that only these two hollywood greats ( Jimmy and Olivia ) could pull off. I never tire of this movie.

I noticed that Olivia fainted in this parting scene as she did in her parting scene with Errol Flynn "They Died With Their Boots On".

Well, both films were directed by Walsh and in the same year. I'm sure that had a lot to do with it.

Cagney stated de Havilland was his favorite of his leading ladies. Easy to see why. They had a great working chemistry, and I wish they'd made more films together.

They looked good together, and made it look easy. I prefer to see him verbally sparring with Ann Sheridan, and her being rescued by Errol Flynn, but this is a great example of what else they could do.

Really? I thought that honor went to Joan Blondell. I love both actresses though. I wish Cagney would've acted with both of them waaaayy more.
