finding a copy

For several years, I've been looking for a copy of "The Smiling Ghost," by purchase, rental or interlibrary loan. I've checked both distributors on the Web & eBay with no result. None of the libraries in the OCLC database owns it, & the TV channels here are not likely to show it.

Would the reviewers please tell me how they managed to see this movie? And what media is it available on: reel to reel, VHS or DVD?

Thanks for your help.

I recorded it off of AMC a long time ago, so long ago it doesn’t have commercials. I don’t think it has ever been put on any form of media for sale. I sold a copy on ebay a few years back, not too many people are familiar with. The lady that bought the copy from me said she was Wayne Morris’ daughter. [email protected]

A decent DVD with full color artbox is availble from Sinister Cinema. I purchased a DVD copy about 2 months ago, and the the quality was pretty good. I think it was around $15.00. I hope this helps you out.

Disc 1, Find the Blackmailer and The Smiling Ghost.
Disc 2, Sh! The Octopus and The Hidden Hand.
Disc 3, Mystery House and The Patient in Room 18.
Of the 6, The Smiling Ghost is the best, Sh! The Octopus, the weakest/worst.
All are around an hour long with TSG the longest.
No re-mastering or extras. All are made from good, clear prints with good sound.
Well worth it.

Definitively well worth it, especially if you find these at the public library (as I did). "The Smiling Ghost" was a lot of fun, with genuine moments of humor and hilarity. 7/10 stars from me.
