Bette Davis 'Cameo'

In response to the question from blanche-2 about where Bette Davis appears in SHINING VICTORY...

According to the book MOTHER GODDAM: THE STORY OF THE CAREER OF BETTE DAVIS (1974), by Whitney Stine with a running commentary by Bette Davis, she appears as the nurse in the opening scene of the movie. But if you don't already know it's her, you probably would never know. She is seen only from the back as she walks across the room and out the door--in probably all of two seconds.

In Whitney Stine's biography of Bette Davis (paperback edition), Davis spells out the full details of her cameo appearance on page 143. And on page 164 Stine prints a 'still' (photo) showing Davis in her nurse's costume at the receptionist's desk. -- Steven P Hill.

Why should we care?

Let it be unsaid: insignificance is the locus of true increpation.
