By 2:15 Paris time the execution set in London for 3 pm would be over

The execution is set for 3 pm.

Stella finds the book in Durand, rue de Carthage, Paris at 2:15.Then she has to find a telephone.

For as long as I can remember, Paris is an hour ahead of London.

So when she gets the diary, the execution would have already been performed!

Umm... When it's 2:15 in Paris it's 1:15 in London BECAUSE Paris is one hour ahead. So, to be exact, they wouldn't have had to panic quite as much as they did to make that phone call to the governour.

I know, time zones can be confusing. If it only wouldn't be so silly to be up all night and sleep during the day, the whole world could have the same time! ;-)
