The Merry-Go-Round Broke Down

This movie has a lot of flaws, but one of the enjoyable moments for me was when they were walking to the bar, and the "Looney Tunes" theme could be heard playing within. I did some digging (thanks, internet), and learned that the music is a 1937 song called "The Merry-Go-Round Broke Down." It would have been four years old when this movie was made in 1941.

after reading your post it hit me that I do remember hearing that that was the title of the Looney Tunes song...but that's all I had ever known of it. I remember thinking how "The Merry Go Round Broke Down", as a phrase, fits right in with the melody (although I don't know if there are actually any lyrics). When I heard it in the movie all I could think of was how interesting, being a Warners' film and all, and thinking of all the cartoons that had characterizations of old stars (like Bogey and Bacall in the "Whatever Baby wants, Baby Gets" one). I love Warners and Looney Tunes!
