Did anyone else notice that ...

the young actress Joan Carroll who was playing the character Bridget Potter bared a direct resemblance in looks and in personality to well known young actress Shirley Temple ? Also the lodge the main characters went to and where staying in looked almost exactly like the one used in the 1954 movie musical " White Christmas " ? I'm watching this movie right now and for the very first time on the channel TCM ( Turner Classic Movies ) . This is a really funny movie .

I saw this film for the first time yesterday and Joan Carroll reminded me of Shirley Temple, as well. It was mainly Joan's voice and line delivery which reminded me of Temple, at times. I thought Joan was fantastic in this.

Hello again hka-3 I believe we have chatted here before on other IMDB Movie Boards for classic films just like this one ( it was awhile ago of course ) . I haven't seen this movie since I put up this subject post . It's been awhile for me here on watching this movie as well . Just curious what channel and time yesterday did you see this movie ? I'm on Eastern time here and was wondering when this movie will be on again . I agree ( and from what I remembered of this movie too ) the actress Joan Carroll was quite extraordinary in this film . It would have been most interesting if back in the day both actresses Shirley Temple & Joan Carroll were in a movie together . It was great chatting with you here again hka-3 and thanks for your reply .

It's good to see you again . This film was on TCM at 3:00 am Eastern on August 28th -- 2:00 am, my time. I was about to go to bed and had a feeling I should record this since Ruth Warrick is in it. I got to see a little of it, right up to the part where Linda started saying, "Heinie Manush." The beginning was so fun I couldn't wait to see the rest of the film (which I did after I woke up).

I remembered Ruth Warrick from All My Children. I just looked at her profile. I didn't realize she was on soap operas as far back as the 1950s (Guiding Light)

ALSO, I just realized Heinie Manush was a great Major League Baseball player. I love baseball so I should've known that, lol. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Heinie_Manush

That's totally fine hka-3 I know what you mean here . There are so many celebrities in existence even I find it difficult to remember them all ( even my favorites - it's like trying to memorize all 2,000 Muppet characters in existence here just too many to count ! ) . I also didn't realize that actress Ruth Warrick was on " All My Children " AND also on the other well known Soap Opera " As The World Turns " according to her IMDB Profile ( and I watched that show back in the 1980's as a teenager and don't remember her on it - go figure ) . Thanks hka-3 for the Wikipedia Link on your favorite baseball celeb Heinie Manush as well .

I just saw this film (middle of the night, Australia) and thought she was a much better actress than Shirley Temple - more focused on the actual acting than being cute.
