I love this film.

I found it hilarious! It shows that couples have always faced adversity, harsh arguments and misunderstandings and are still in love, unlike the placid, dull, uber-fake relationships on tv in the late '50's throughout the 60's. Maybe those false expectations is why babyboomers can't weather marriage when it's not "perfect" like the tv shows they grew up with.

The reason I think I enjoyed this movie so much is I watched thinking "this is how real couples act" and I didn't knw they had content like this in old movies. As a baby boomer myself, I was raised with the afore-mentioned bland sitcoms where married couples slept in twin beds and movies were censored beyond belief. (I also love the spoof of these movies "Down with Love".

Sometimes people are completely irrational. Sometimes one partner WILL NOT let a subject go. Sometimes - they get physical the way they do in the film WITHOUT abuse - but a little wrasseling that can turn into - *ahem cough*

Anyway, great funny movie!
