was Stanwyck ever cuter?

That scene where she meets Norton and he gives her the go ahead, and her face is like "yay!" The kid's just brimmin' over with moxie.

Stanwyck was very attractive in her younger years. No surprise Doe fell for her.

Stanwyk was very talented, lively, and lovely in this, and others in the group of four guys who watched this last night thought so too.

I think Capra want Stanwyck to provide some Jean Arthur girlish quality. Strangely it worked.

Barbara Stanwyck was and will always be a national treasure. She could play sweet, she could play bitter, and everything in between. She's the quintessential femme fatale, the straight-talker, the hard on the outside, but soft on the inside dame with a past that wants to believe again. I love when she played against type in a film like Christmas in Connecticut. She had every talent and skill fit for the screen.

I used to think I knew everything about the world. Now I just know that it's round.
