Are the people at Sony nuts or something?

Sony has its own version of the burn on demand Warner Archive program - the Choice Collection. Here we are a few years into the program and they haven't done the obvious - release a complete collection of the Boston Blackie movies. Among classic collectors they'd sell like hotcakes. They're also ignoring the wonderful Lone Wolf and Crime Doctor franchises in a similar manner. Warner Bros. had the sense to realize that collections of Torchy Blane films, Dr. Kildare, Andy Hardy, etc. would sell and even made some of their collections pressed. Meanwhile the Sony Choice Collection is focusing on films that have very recently had pressed releases and also releasing some very obscure titles that few people have ever heard of. Very strange and not good business if you ask me. So what gives?
